Oracle LED headlight review

I decided to upgrade my headlights again for the 4th time. I started with 8k HID’s and didn’t really like them because they were too blue. i really couldn’t see at night and eventually the ballast kept failing and making my light flicker or not come on at all, So i got rid of them and got a set of Xentec 6k HID’s. Although they were not as blue at the 8k’s i had, they still after some time failed, the driver side light sometimes wouldn’t come on and you would have to wiggle the ballast wires at times to get it to stop flickering.

So i got tired of always having problems with HID’s so i decided to get some expensive halogen’s i went with the Silverstar ZXE’s, i got a set of high and low bulbs, and though they did perform better than my HID’s, meaning they never flickered and always came on, i was not impressed with the dull brown yellow color of them. So once again i decided to change them.

This time i decided to spend a little bit of money and get some hopefully higher grade lights, because i figured if maybe i spend more money i would get better quality than what i have previously. After doing some research, I decided to go with the Oracle LED headlights. They were a little expensive (about $200), but i figured i would give them a shot. They are also said they were flicker free, water proof and dust proof. Also less wattage than a HID. So that had me sold as well.

oracle boxFirst impressions when i received the box was  it was nicely boxed with the Oracle logo right on the box. The inside had the actual retail package containing my new lights. They were packaged very well in foam. The lights were of high quality, all metal, fully inclosed small driver ballast (much better than my previous plastic ones) and the wires were in a rubber sleeve. No instructions in the package, but you really don’t need them, the bulbs only go in one way and it’s pretty obvious how they go together. Check out my tutorial if you need help putting them in.

Turning them on for the first time,  i was really impressed. They were an instant on and nice clean white color and very bright.20150508_225704 I turned them on and off a couple of times to test them out and even hit the high beams, i only got the low beam bulbs but to be honest i really don’t think i’ll even need high beams. The low beams stay on with my highs anyways, that may just be the driver ballast though.

This pic doesn’t give it justice.

Driving for the first time with LED’s i was even more impressed, although they don’t have a far distance of light it’s still pretty decent. They light up the whole road and the visibility is far better than the halogens i had and even the hid’s i had previous. The light is about the same as a 5k hid light, but without the worry of flickering or warming up to get to it’s full brightness. Overall i am satisfied with my purchase and the performance of these lights so far, i will be thinking about getting the high beams ay a later date and time, but for now these are just fine.
