What if i told you that you could become a professional racer right from your home by playing on your playstation? Well it’s true! you can. At the Nissan GT Academy you can do just that. The Academy was established in 2008 and was debuted in India in 2014 and had over 5,000 people that year and has had an over all over 4 million entries since it’s introduction in 2008.
Want to apply? Well here is how it works. You can first either go to the location in India to participate in the GT Academy Program, or you can sign up right at home from your playstation. Participants at the India location will have a chance on playing Gran Turismo 6 on simulators. People applying at home must have a copy of Gran Turismo 6 and a PSN (Playstation Network) account. The player with the best laptime will go on to the nation finals. The top 6 players will then compete against the worlds best, and finally the winner will have a chance to become a real international racer for nissan.
The newest member of the Nissan race team is 24 year old Jann Mardenborough. At just 24 years old he is already a professional driver for nissan and is participating in this years Le Mans 24 hour race, Driving the incredible Nissan GT-R LM Nismo car. In 2011 he became the third winner at the GT Academy and beat 90,000 participants and was awarded to take place in Dubai’s 24 hour race driving for Nissan.
